Our basketball star on New Year's Eve...

On New Year's Eve the four of us went to a Utah basketball game. Earlier that week Jeremy got a call asking if he wanted to shoot baskets for money during a time-out (3 baskets, $300, in 30 sec.). Of course he said yes, but I think he was a little nervous because he hasn't played basketball for a while because his knee has been bothering him.

So the night before he went to the church with Jackson to practice shooting. He said he didn't care if he made all 3 shots, he just didn't want to airball it in front of everyone. I told him he better make all 3 because I wanted some extra shopping money. :) Really though, I asked him my percentage before we got there to solidify my earnings...hey I had to watch both kids and take pictures while he did it so I deserved something. (and actually Becky and Blake watched the kids while I took pictures)

Well, not only did he NOT airball any of the three shots, he made all 3 the first try....and he still had 15 seconds left when he was done. Here are some pictures of our exciting night with our superstar Dad.
Jeremy on the Jumbo-Tron right before.
He gave me a quick smile before he started.
He was so fast I missed a picture of the layup, but this was him shooting the free throw.
Again I missed the picture of the 3 pointer, but this is him walking away after he made all three shots. I wish you could see his face.....huge smile! He said he was nervous but he didn't show it at all. When I was walking back up after taking pictures I heard some people say, "man we should get that guy on the team". I wished Jeremy could hear that....his dream would have been to play college basketball. It was so fun for Jackson to see his dad on the court. We've gone to another game since and Jackson will say, "Is daddy going to shoot hoops?"...Here is a picture of the boys after the game at Aunt Tammy's house. Jackson still doesn't quite get the "be soft" thing.

Our family after the game. Notice I am in a white Utah shirt....I still can't quite do red yet! :) We had a fun New Year's Eve....what a great way to start off a new year with a little extra money. Hopefully that means something for 2009!

Christmas Night 2008

Christmas night we went to my parents house. It was a crazy fun filled night with lots of cousins, food, and good company. Jackson and Tyler both got spoiled from Grandma and Papa...and so did Jeremy and I. My parents always go over and beyond to make Christmas wonderful for their kids. Thanks mom and dad for everything.
This was the coolest toy ever... Jackson got his race cars, and it was definitely the biggest highlight of his Christmas. He played with the race cars and tracks the entire next day.
Jackson also got Boggle Jr....time to learn our letters :) and a Curious George airplane.
Tyler scored a cute little outfit, teether, and this fun musical table.

We had a wonderful Christmas and were spoiled by our families. I love Christmas time and am sad its over, but look forward to next year when Ty will be a little older and Jackson will understand even more. I'm grateful for my Savior and for the fun traditions we have to celebrate his birth.

Christmas Day 2008

Ok, so I'm really behind on posting, but I wanted to remember some of the highlights of Christmas morning for our scrapbook so I've just posted some pictures from our wonderful day.
We woke up to tons of snow and it pretty much snowed the entire day. Jeremy had to shovel 2 or 3 times that day. This is our front porch....we got at least a foot and maybe more like 18 inches.

Tyler starting off our morning with his first present. He sure looked cute in his santa jammies.
Jackson with his new tool bench. This was his favorite toy and played with it all day. We would ask him what he wanted from Santa and he would say a screwdriver and race car. So we got him the bench and tools to go with the screwdriver.

Jackson was excited that he got to help Tyler open all of his presents...luckily Ty didn't know any better.
Jackson with his new GeoTrax airplane. We forgot to get AAA batteries for it so he didn't play with it until the next day....which about killed him to wait.

Daddy with Ty...such cute boys!

Daddy wrestling with Jackson after presents......a favorite for Jackson! Mommy with her two boys (don't mind my ugliness). Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures with the four of us....pictures are too hard to come by with a 2 year old toddler who can't sit still for anything.

Christmas Eve 2008

For Christmas Eve we went to Jeremy's moms house. It was such a fun night filled with good food, good company, and of course good presents. :) Jackson is a typical hyper 2 year old boy and was in time-out a lot that night. Him and Ty are the only boys and so these little girls aren't used to being wrestled and climbed on. :) Jackson sure loves his cousins and playing with all of them. This was the only family picture we got that night. It is hard these days to get Jackson to sit still long enough. Notice Tyler's little frown.....so sad.
Jeremy with both of our boys. Ty slept for a lot of it.....heaven!
The kids were so nice and calm anticipating presents from Grandma...
Now notice how Jackson can hardly sit still for a picture. He is so excited for his Thomas train, Thomas pillow case, and new digger.

Here are all the Burgon cousins in their new jammies from Grandma. Jackson loved his football Bear jammies and Ty looked so cute in his blue-star puppy jammies. Let's just say "difficult" when it comes to getting 8 kids in a picture together...this was the only picture with everyone not moving.

Making Christmas cookies

A few weeks ago we made some christmas cookies as a fun new christmas tradition. I thought it would be fun for Jackson to help me and then he could decorate them as he wanted to. It was fun for the first 10 minutes and then Jackson lost his patience and wanted to do everything himself (smashing the dough, throwing candy - ya know 2 year old stuff). Needless to say, we only got a few plates made and just took them to family. Once Jackson is a little bigger, hopefully it will be a fun tradition for him to help me with the making and then taking them to family and neighbors.

Just before decorating the cookies. He waves every time he says "Merry Christmas"...

Some of our cookie creations. Marshmellows on cookies - it was one of Jackson's favorite. Notice the Merry Christmas wave... :) It was a fun night....stressful at times, but it was fun for Jackson which is what I had to keep telling myself to try and not get mad at him for smashing cookies and ruining them!
