Birthday weekend in San Fran...

We had such a great time in San Francisco last weekend. Jeremy did such a great job at making my birthday weekend so memorable. We stayed with our friends Kory and Ashley Knell, and loved spending time with them. I'm just getting to posting pictures, and since we did lots of stuff, bear with the amount of pictures.

We started out Friday morning with a brunch from Mama's cafe in Washington Square. We waited for an hour for brunch.....yes an hour! I didn't want to wait and so I asked everyone in line if it was really worth an hour wait, and they all said it definitely was. So we decided to wait (which is difficult for a preggo to wait to eat), but it was as they said........absolutely delicious! A must if you ever go to San Fran.

We then headed to Coit Tower to see the views of the city. Here is us at coit tower, and the views weren't as great as they could have been because of the smog and fog so it is just us at the tower. :) There's my 5 1/2 month preggo belly.

We then headed to Fisherman's warf, and unfortunately didn't take any pictures there. Jeremy had never been so seeing the touristy stuff was a must. Later that night we went out for some Thai food (my favorite) at a place called Osha's. It was so fabulous. I got some pumpkin curry and ended the night with a mango rice dessert. Mmmmm, I love curry! Later we took the trolley to Ghiradelli square for some hot chocolate......I wanted a sundae but my belly couldn't hold much more food. Here's us on the trolley and then at Ghiradelli square.

The next day we slept in a bit as all that walking was a lot harder on me than I thought it would be. We got up and headed to China Town....it's so fun to just walk a couple blocks and feel like you are in another country. We bought some authentic Chinese food.....some of it was interesting, and some of it was actually pretty good. I got some Chanel glasses for $10 and wanted to find a purse but no luck. We then found this cool little Fortune Cookie factory where they make the fortune cookies right in front of you. They even let Kory and Jeremy make one (lets just say that Jeremy took a circle piece of paper, folded it in half, and then in half again......not so much like a fortune cookie).

Later that afternoon we took the PCH along the coast to head south to Palo Alto. We stopped at a cute little cafe in Half Moon Bay for a small lunch, and then headed for the Ritz Carlton. I had been there for one of my birthday's for brunch and so wanted to stop and show them the views. To our luck there was a cool Motorcycle convention there showing really old and cool bikes. It was called the Legend of the Motorcycle . There were hundreds of people there and supposedly anyone famous that likes motorcycles was there. We saw Jason Lee from "My name is Earl", but that was the only star we saw. They said Sandra Bullock was there earlier with her husband Jesse James, but we missed her I guess. It was fun to walk around and see all the cool bikes and passionate biker dudes in their leather gear. This was a bike from 1904....pretty cool to see them that old.

After Half Moon Bay, we went to Palo Alto for some dinner at Bella Luna on University Ave. It was great Italian food, and I just love the atmosphere of Palo Alto. Here are the four of us at dinner......notice how I never take off my sweatshirt the whole trip(it was so cold there).

Kory and Ashley were going to Michael Buble in Jose that night so we dropped them off and went back to Palo Alto. I showed Jeremy where I lived, we stopped at Stanford's campus, and then went back to University Ave for some gelato. Oh and it was so fabulous...love that stuff. I just loved driving around seeing all the places I used to go when I lived there. I love Palo Alto and wish we could afford to live there. Maybe someday....

So the last day of our trip we went to church in the city, and then back to Kory and Ashley's for brunch. Ashley made me some waffles, orange rolls, and fruit for my birthday. It was so yummy and thoughtful of Kory and Ashley. After lunch we decided to drive up to the golden gate bridge, Saulsalito, and Tiburon. We did the cool Golden Gate pictures (where it was so windy), and then went to Tiburon to look at the million dollar homes on the water. We even went through a few homes pretending we were looking.......kind of awkward talking to the realtor, but fun to see.

We got home that night around 9pm and I came home to a fun surprise party of family and friends waiting at our house. It was so sweet of Jeremy and my friends to put together. We had some fabulous chocolate cake and the best part of the night was seeing my little Jackson again. We missed him so much and are so grateful to Thelma, Jeremy's mom, for watching him for us.

It was such a fun weekend and I couldn't have asked for better company. Kory and Ashley, thanks so much for allowing us to come crash with you and take up your weekend. You both were such great hosts. And thanks to my hubby who always makes me feel so special and loved. I love you babe!

Happy Mother's Day.....

Generally, we leave this whole blog thing to Jenn, but Jackson and I decided to post and tell Jenn how grateful we are for her. Since Jackson can't really write yet.... I'm going to do my best to help him out and wish Mom a Happy Mother's Day! Some of the reasons why Jax loves Mom: (In most of his own words)
  • She makes sure that I always have food, snacks, juice, and milk (even though I don't always eat/drink it.)
  • She buys me new toys and plays games with me
  • She teaches me how to dance (Dad is okay with it right now, but it stops before I actually realize what I'm doing.)
  • She reads books with me and tries to teach me new things
  • She loves me and lets me know by constant hugs and kisses
  • She sacrifices her time, hobbies, talents, work, etc. for me

Those are just some of the things that I could get out of Jackson for this post..... Seriously though, I just wanted to post this to let Jenn know how much Jackson (and I) appreciate her. I am amazed at how gentle, compassionate, and nurturing that she is with Jackson, when I just don't have the patience. I'm also amazed at how she makes it through the days with tantrums, diapers, and more tantrums. I'm still amazed that she married me.....but count my blessings everyday that she's in my life.

We love you Mom!!!

(Thanks for putting up with the amateur hour blog...I promise not to do this again for a long time.)

A fun day outside...

Jackson just loves being outside and was so happy when it was time for some family yard work. Poor Jeremy carried little Jax around while mowing the lawn because Jackson was so enthralled with the mower. He kept saying, "mower, mower". He wouldn't leave his dad's side, and when Jeremy had to put him down because his arms were dying, Jackson would cry and run after his dad. He also helped mom weed her garden with his new shovel and rake.

What a perfect husband I have...

My 30th birthday was yesterday and last week my husband says, "I want you to open one of your presents early". Sounds good to me.....first, that would mean I'm getting "more than one present", and second, I'm always up for presents. So I open my gift and I find this homemade card from my husband.....

and inside it reads...

K, first of all my husband spent 3 hours making this card finding all the letters the right size from magazines (and he said he was playing xbox with Blake while instead doing my card), and then he surprises me with a kid-free trip to San Francisco for the weekend. Now, is that a cute husband or what???? I am so lucky to have Jeremy in my life and have someone who loves to take care of me and spoil me when I need it. Thanks babe.....your the best.

I'll post about our San Francisco trip once I can get a few more minutes and cross off some items on the To Do list.

Our Family trip to San Diego

So we went to San Diego a couple of weeks ago, but I am just getting to posting pictures. I seem to have little motivation lately when it comes to the computer. It's nice to have something to blame stuff on like pregnancy... :)
We had such a fabulous time.....thanks to my sister Alison and her husband Mike. They were such gracious hosts and made us feel right at home. Jackson absolutely loved their kids and I loved having someone else to play trains or trucks with Jackson. I think Jackson forgot I was there half the time. Here are lots of pictures....to hard to choose just a few.

All the kids in Old town San Diego. Jackson loved being outside with his cousins.
At Seaport Village there was a merry-go-round and Jackson LOVED it. He wouldn't sit on the horse so we sat on the bench instead. He loved waving to dad each time we came around. The tantrum was pretty big once he realized it was over and he had to get off.
We went to the Wild Animal Park and Jackson started out scared of the animals in the petting zoo and tried hiding under dad's legs.

But after a few more attempts he loved giving food to the deer. He was sad once the food was all gone.

Jackson watching the ducks in the pond. We captured him while saying "Quack, Quack".

We had a kid-free night and went to La Jolla to eat at the Burger Lounge (which was fabulous) and came home to this sweet photo-op. :) He has such sweet cousins....thanks Xani for taking such good care of him!

We went to eat brunch at a cool little surfer's cafe called Pipes cafe and then hit the beach after. Jackson was a little weary of the sand and wouldn't quite relax if he was touching the sand. It was hilarious to watch... He wouldn't touch it with his hands and tried to make as little contanct as possible with his feet while sitting. We definitely need to get to the beach more often so this kid isn't so afraid of the water and sand.

Our family photo at Disneyland. It was so much fun, and Jackson had the time of his life.
Jackson loves Mickey Mouse and so we were curious as to how he would react seeing him. He liked seeing him, but only from afar, and only if dad was with him.

This time Jackson got on the horse and loved the merry-go-round again. This was probably his favorite ride!

On the teacups with my brother Jeff and his daughter Gracie. Man I am ghostly white...almost didn't post pictures of me, but oh well the kids and Jeff are cute! :)

Jackson with his cute cousin Gracie obviously not wanting to sit still for a picture on Minnie Mouse's couch.

Jackson and dad on the rocket ride. Jackson loves this place!!!

Jackson clapping for the parade and watching in amazement at all the characters going by.

Jackson and and his cousin Lance smelling the flowers at the San Diego temple. We showed them how to smell the flowers and not pick them, and so they kept squatting down and doing this.....it was so cute!

Our family at the beautiful San Diego temple grounds. We wished we could have had more time to go inside, but just seeing the grounds was fun.

We had such a great time and were sad to come home. We love California so much and kept wishing we could live there. The weather was perfect and I especially loved having Jeremy to hang out with every day and not have him go to work.

I felt like a little kid going to Disneyland...

For the last week or so I have been so excited for Tuesday to arrive. Tuesday was the scheduled day for my ultrasound and I couldn't be more excited. On Monday that's all I thought about and even Monday night I tossed and turned and couldn't sleep because I was so excited. I felt like I was a little girl and I knew I was going to lagoon the next day......I could hardly wait for that day to arrive. So Tuesday finally came and we had a great doctor's appt. The baby looked very healthy and everything looked good. I measured a few days ahead of my due date (which is always nice)..................and we saw a little something and Jeremy and I didn't even have to ask what the sex was. We told the nurse, "now that's a boy right". Oh yes without a doubt you are having another little boy.

I had been feeling like we were going to have a girl so I was a little shocked but so excited and so happy to see my little baby inside my tummy. It made everything so much more real. I know Jackson is going to be a great big brother. When we went to pick up Jackson from his grandma's I said "Jackson you are going to have a little brother" and he said "girl". Even now I say mom has a little boy in my tummy, and he replies "girl". Who knows if he even knows what it means, but he seemed to have wanted a sister or just liked that word better than boy. :)

We are so excited to have another little boy and can't wait for him to come by August 30th.....hopefully.

Our Easter...

We had a great Easter and really loved seeing Jackson experience it. Here are some pictures of Jackson in his new Easter outfit and him searching for eggs at our house. We didn't get out to any of the community easter egg hunts because I had to work on Saturday, so we did a little one in our living room. Jackson loved finding the eggs and thought it was the coolest thing to put them in his basket. Holidays are so much more fun with kids. I just love seeing Jackson experience new things. Showing us his teeth. I just love this kid!!!
Looking for all of the eggs that were soooooo discretely hidden...
I can't decide if he looks like he's thinking about where more eggs are hiding, or if he's just high off the candy he's eaten all day. Probably the latter...
Our sweet angel boy. He is getting so big and grown up....definitely not my baby boy anymore.
We had a fun Easter going to church remembering what Easter is really about, then Jax and Jenn taking a nap, eating some candy from Jax's basket, and then eating dinner at Jeremy's moms house. It was so fun to see Jackson interact with his cousins. He is getting to be such a boy, and soooo hyper sometimes. I get nervous if we are having another boy that I will be able to handle two boys and all their energy. :) I guess we will see in a couple weeks.

Tagged....????

10 years ago....I was 19 and a sophomore at BYU (and yes that means I'm 30 in 2 months :( )

Get Jeremy a car (we are currently living on 1 car)
Put away money for the kids
And Save.....I love having money in savings! (and maybe a small shopping spree)

Three bad Habits...
Always running 5 minutes late
Taking a nap EVERY day (its not the worst think but I never get anything done anymore)
Eating too many sweets! AND If we had money.....it would be shopping. I love to shop! :)

Sacramento, CA
Palo Alto, CA
and now, Herriman, UT

5 jobs I have had...
High School Computer Teacher - 4 years
Applications Engineer - 2 1/2 years
Networking Intern - 2 years in college
Nectars (like Jamba Juice) 1 year in college
Gap - High School

5 things people don't know about me....
I love to learn from other people. I learn a lot from others mistakes and successes. I think that is one reason why I like Oprah and talk shows like that(Jeremy always makes fun of me for it)
I love fashion and accessories. I wish I would have done fashion design school over engineering....go figure, those majors are so similar.
I want to make my own jewelry line some day and make lots of money doing it. :)
I LOVE to exercise and being in shape. I'm not always the most motivated to go early in the morning, but when I exercise a lot I love how I feel. I've even thought about doing personal training.
I am a huge procrastinator. I do very well under lots of stress and time constraints.....such a bad habit that I would love to change.

A trip to Cali...

So Jackson and I joined my friend Mary Claire and her two kids on a trip to California. We drove down in her new pimped out minivan (which was a dream having the 3 kids). We went to get away from the Utah ice land and play with our friend Elizabeth. Unfortunately the weather was a little rainy, but still warmer than Utah. We had such a fun time. Elizabeth was such a gracious host and so great to let us bombard her house.....which is so beautiful BTW. Where she lives is so beautiful and it made me miss California so much. If only we could afford to live there and Jeremy's job was there, I think I might start looking for a house in Elizabeth's neighborhood right now. I loved the girl talks, seeing Elizabeth's kids again, seeing my sister Alison for a short time, watching all of the kids interact together, and being able to chat with Claire while the kids slept or watched a movie on the drive home. Here are a few pictures.....when I remembered to pull my camera out.Jackson and Charlotte after jumping on the bed. So sweet, don't they make a cute couple. Jackson found some glasses and loved putting them on. This was the first time I heard him say "cool". I kept calling him a cool dude and you can see him saying "COOL"!!!!

Jax playing in the sand with Charlotte and Stella. It was so fun to be outside and the kids were in heaven.

Cute Charlotte and Parker riding some horsey thing..... :) Love these kids!

Jackson's with his new best friend Berk(who is 6). Jackson loves older kids and he fell in love with little Berk. Berk was so cute to take care of Jax at the park. He would take him on all the slides and help him get up all the big steps. We wanted to take Berk home, but I don't think Elizabeth could live without this cute kid. Even after we got home Jackson saw these pictures and said "Ber". Hopefully we will come visit again soon!

We were sad to leave, but it is nice to be home again. This is what I came home to.....

Isn't my husband the cutest.....my absolute favorite flowers ever! We missed him so much and Jackson loves having his dad to play with again.

Something to Celebrate!

Jackson loves to play with other kids lately and will follow the big kids around just to feel like he fits in. We thought we would give him a new friend to play with permanently at home. Jax is so excited to be a big brother that he told us he would be the "Best Big Brother" ever. We are excited to find out the sex sometime in early April, and then have our new baby by the end of the summer.

Jackson can't wait to meet his new sibling.....and neither can we! :)

Jackson's two favorite things...

Jackson has always loved his basketball hoop. His favorite thing is to play with dad when he gets home from work. Those two can play for hours and Jackson never seems to tire of it. A new favorite is his hat and gloves. Now this kid used to hate hats and wouldn't wear one for anything.......I was always trying. Now for some weird reason he loves these hat and gloves. We put them on one day and he thought they were pretty cool. We will be getting ready to go out and the first thing he'll go get is his hat. The gloves usually only last 10 minutes or so til he wants use of his hands back. I love this kid........he always makes me laugh.

Happy Holidays!!!!!

We didn't get around to sending out Christmas cards this season, but did attempt to take some pictures. We figured a blog/email card would suffice this year. :) We are very happy, healthy, and grateful for all we have. It has been an eventful year with our little 1 year old. We are so grateful to have Jackson in our lives. We love all of our friends and family and cherish the time and memories we have with you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Chistmas Morning...

Jackson knew something was up on Christmas when mom started the morning out screaming "Jackson its Christmas, Santa came"! We went down stairs and he went straight to the presents. He had a hard time continuing after a few presents because he wanted to play with his new toys....basically a tantrum started while we forced him to open more gifts. (note to self - he only needs 2 or 3 gifts) :)Jackson opening some presents while holding his first present. :)

Jackson with his favorite toy of the day....his vacuum! He loves vacuum's, everytime we see one he screams "bac". He pushed it around the whole day....and screamed if he ever had to leave it. It had to sit next to his high chair while he ate breakfast.

Our traditional present of a Christmas story from dad.
We had a wonderful Christmas and are so grateful for all we have. We loved seeing family and friends and will always treasure the time we get to spend with them.

Christmas Eve at the Burgons

We had a wonderful time on Christmas Eve at Jeremys mom's house. It was so fun to see Jackson interact with all of his cousins. He seemed so much older as I had never seen him really "play" with other kids. I don't think I've ever seen him have so much fun and so sad to go home at the end of the night.

Wrestling with his cousins. Out of focus, but you get the idea.Jackson opening presents from Grandma Burgon. He got his favorite show cars!
Jackson in his new beanie that his cousin Adrianna made. She made it red & blue for our split household. :)

Jackson checking out his new truck.

All the grandkids on the Burgon side in their new jammies from grandma Thelma. Jackson loved hanging out with his cousins. I think we'll drop him off more often to play with them. :)
